Activity Organizer: Dr. Gavande Email: gabriela.gavande@basisindependent.com In this after-school club, fifth graders will explore structured written expression by transforming genres—reshaping short stories into poems, poems into narratives, and beyond. The club enriches the Grade 5 English curriculum by revisiting the genres studied throughout the year and offering students a creative avenue to extend their learning. At the beginning of the season, each student will pick a project to work on and then will be guided on how to "set words into motion." It is best suited for self-motivated writers who are eager to develop their ideas independently while drawing inspiration from classic ballads, sonnets, and stories. Required Materials: Books will be provided but will stay in school.
