Sprinker Recreation Center – Camp will be led by Figure Skating Program Coordinator Heidi SullivanMust be referred by a Figuring Skating Coach at Sprinker Recreation Center. Open to skaters Basic 6 – Aspire 4
A powerful and educational off-ice training experience designed to help new skaters build a strong foundation in jump technique, strength and conditioning, and stretching. The goal is to create a well-rounded training environment that emphasizes safe movement, proper fueling and technical growth. Setting skaters up for confident performance on the ice. The camp will include a t-shirt and jump rope for all participants.
Camp will include the following: • Equipment Safety & Education• Foundation of Off-Ice Jump Technique • Plyometric Training • Dynamic Stretching and Mobility • Nutrition for Young Athletes
This program offering is grant funded and in partnership with the Active Youth Coalition – a collaborative group aiming to expand resources for active engagement in south Pierce County, promoting the health benefits of play and physical exercise. The vision of the Active Youth Coalition is a Pierce County in which every child has the opportunity to be active through sports, play and outdoor recreation, regardless of race, gender, income and ability with the mission of every kid being active, healthy and engaged in school and community.
Pierce County Parks receives grant funding that helps support our programs and services.
