Transform into a character in a scene from a Broadway play or feature film while developing acting technique. Students will learn and apply acting concepts from Konstantin Stanislavski and Uta Hagen in order to build a believable character in scene work. Each class consists of warm-ups, improv, script analysis, instruction and experimentation with acting techniques, and scene. All scene materials will be provided. All scenes are from Broadway and off Broadway plays as well as feature films and television shows. Acting concepts learned in class nurture imagination and go hand in hand with literary analysis and writing skills. Class culminates with a showcase performance on the last class.
