About This Activity
Description
Martial arts have been proven to enhance self-esteem through the teachings of relaxation, concentration, assertiveness, and honesty in communication. It has been said to help increase self-control and reduce impulsivity through the mindfulness practice. The Multi-Cultural Martial Arts classes at the Bob Gilbertson YMCA will empower students through a principle based approach, to develop integrity, respect, courage, honor, compassion, honesty and loyalty. Participants will build a solid foundation to grow their self-awareness, self-confidence, and provide the tools necessary to hone their self-discipline.Sub-Activities
