Sometimes the best way to learn World Geography is to plan to Travel the World! Traveling opens your mind and helps you become more knowledgeable about life, people, and the world around you! This class will allow students to plan trips to different continents, countries and cities and by doing so, learning about them. Travel plans and information will be shared with the class, so we can all enjoy this imaginary travel and learn about the world together. Trip planning lessons will include finding the best mode of transportation and booking airline tickets/train tickets/rental cars; efficient and effective packing; being accountable for your possessions; researching and booking accommodations at our destination; booking excursions/tours at our destination; keeping within a travel budget; understanding local customs and etiquette; learning about local cuisine; adapting to local timezones; understanding languages and currencies. Students will need access to a computer and preferably be permitted to bring it to class on a weekly basis. Homework will vary weekly, averaging to about 1 hour per week.
