About This Activity
ARC riders will experience a broad range of riding surfaces, from city streets and multi-use paths to off-road trails and technical singletrack. Coaches will work with campers on a wide variety of skills, including safe street riding practices, pedestrian interaction, efficient climbing and descending, gearing selection and pedaling cadence, technical trail riding, obstacle avoidance, jumps/drops, bike maintenance and trail-side repair, and group riding techniques and etiquette. Adventure Riding Camp caters to avid riders who seek thrills and adventure. A prerequisite for participation is a high comfort level on bikes and the necessary skills and mental focus required for big days on the bike. ARC participants can expect long/moderate or short/steep climbs, the potential for 15+ miles daily, and occasional requirements to carry bikes up/down stairs or other obstacles. This camp is open to riders High Level 5+, ages 9 – 13. Bike Requirement: Properly fitting two-wheel pedal bike appropriate for both on and off-road use. Front and rear hand brakes & gears required.
