(Note: this class is not on the same schedule as other SEED classes. It is held 10:30am-12:30pm for 5 weeks, Jan. 26-Feb. 23, in the community room at Fire Station 51 on Burnham Street in downtown Tigard.) Instructor: LeKisha Moore - past SEED instructor; owner, Moore4More Tutoring The ACT and SAT are unlike any test you’ve ever taken. They can potentially cover everything you’ve learned since first grade, and many of the questions are worded differently from what you are accustomed to in school and require more analysis. This class will give you strategies for confidently selecting the right answers; show you how to make the best use of your test-taking time; and help you determine if you should take the ACT, SAT or both. We will also see how your scores match up with the requirements of your preferred colleges. Class includes materials for practice and evaluation at home. Important: this class focuses specifically on ACT and SAT material; it is not intended as a review of school curriculum. After you register, you will receive 2 assessments for the student to complete prior to the first class on Jan. 26. Completing these assessments in advance will maximize the amount of instruction and class time the student will receive. Otherwise, the assessments will need to be completed during class. Class capacity is 25. When we reach 25, we will start a wait list for a second class. The minimum required for a second class is 10 students. When the wait list reaches 10, we will schedule the second class, dates/times/location to be determined. The second class will be taught by the same instructor as the original class.
