Inventor Showcase brings the two-year SPARK Lab journey together as children design an interactive creation for an audience. In this spring semester, students use the thinking habits they have built across SPARK Lab: planning, sequencing, pattern recognition, cause and effect, testing, debugging, and explaining to create a project with purpose. The focus is the full design cycle: imagine, plan, build, test, improve, and share. Children begin with an idea, create a simple prototype, test how it works, make thoughtful changes, and prepare a short explanation of what their invention does and how it works. Students also practice an early maker mindset by designing for someone else, listening to feedback, improving their work, and presenting their final creation with pride and confidence.
