SPARK Lab Year 2: Screen-Ready Makers builds on the hands-on foundation children developed in Year 1 and helps them take their next step into screen-light creation, interactive systems, and purposeful problem-solving. Across the year, students strengthen the habits of computational thinking: planning steps, recognizing patterns, using repetition, responding to events, working with inputs and outputs, testing ideas, debugging mistakes, and explaining how a system works. Coding is introduced as one tool children can use to bring their thinking to life, but the deeper goal is to help them think logically, design creatively, and solve problems with confidence. Students create animated stories, playful interactive scenes, smart toy prototypes, light-and-sound responses, simple controllers, robotics challenges, and a final invention designed for an audience. Each project begins with hands-on planning, movement, building, or storytelling before students use technology to make their ideas respond, move, light up, or communicate.
