About This Activity

Forky wasn’t supposed to be a robot...., but with a little imagination and engineering, anything is possible!  In this playful robotics camp, students turn recycled materials into expressive, moving robots. Campers become inventors, builders, and coders as they bring their quirky creations to life through circuits and code. Campers work through creative build challenges where imagination and testing guide the process. Kids will:   - Learn the engineering design process for product design - Ideate, brainstorm what makes a toy fun and SMART?   - Learn about simple machines and the fundamentals of Robotics   - Coding fundamentals   - Build circuits with motors and sensors to design and build an exciting SMART TOY with Micro:bit that can move on command, light up in the dark, or make sounds - You Decide! BONUS: : MICRO:BIT and accompanying motor and sensors are complementary. Students will take the entire project home
