The Winter Term (Term 2) intermediate Program is designed to introduce actors to specific techniques in order to develop their mind, voice and body for a confident and honest performance. Improvisation and scripted scene study provide fluency in acting fundamentals like conflict, action and given circumstances. As collaboration is essential to the creation of theatre, students will develop the social skills required to find creative solutions as a member of a team, to confidently give voice to original ideas, and grow respect towards the ideas of their peers. The first half of Term 2 Intermediate Drama Program focuses on improvisation, script-writing, comedy, stage combat, classical theatre training techniques, Shakespeare, vocal training and musical theatre, followed by the introduction and auditioning process of the final Musical Performance scheduled for the end of Term 3. There is no final performance in this term (Term 2). Instead, the class hosts an Open House at the end of Term 2. Ages: 7 to 11 years old Duration: 11 weeks of classes Time: 1.5 hours per week Performance: A performance is introduced in Term 2. The final performance is held on the last day of term 3
