Club SciKidz’s Junior Paleontologist is a STEM.org accredited program that provides a comprehensive introduction to the basics of Paleontology and Geology. Campers explore the Earth’s history through a series of immersive, tactile projects designed to simulate real-world scientific field work. Core Learning Objectives: Fossil Excavation & Analysis: Campers participate in "miniature dinosaur digs," learning how to carefully uncover, clean, and identify fossil replicas while understanding how organic matter transitions into stone. Geological Discoveries: Students explore the "treasures of the earth" by panning for real gems and minerals and cracking open geodes to study crystal formations and mineral composition. Dinosaur Biology & Anatomy: By building a detailed T-Rex model, campers learn about skeletal structures, dietary adaptations, and the specific traits that allowed different dinosaur species to thrive in their prehistoric ecosystems. Paleo-Botany & Ancient Life: The curriculum extends beyond dinosaurs to include the study of petrified wood and trilobites, giving campers a holistic view of life on Earth throughout different geological eras. Quick Facts for Busy Families The "Treasure" Take-Home: This is a high-yield project camp! Campers take home almost everything they find or build, including their panned gems, cracked geodes, and dinosaur models. STEM.org Accredited: Our curriculum is vetted for academic rigor, ensuring that every "dig" is grounded in real scientific principles and vocabulary. Outdoor Exploration: We balance indoor lab time with outdoor "field missions" to keep energy levels high and curiosity peaked. Full-Day Schedule: Most locations run Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with Pre-Camp (8:00 AM) and Post-Camp (until 5:30 PM) options available to fit your schedule. Adventure Awaits—Don't Wait!
