Club SciKidz’s Junior Physician is a STEM.org accredited summer program that provides a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to the wonders of Human Anatomy and Physiology. The curriculum is designed to help young learners visualize the complex systems working inside them through high-engagement modeling and experiments. Core Learning Objectives: Anatomy & Systems Modeling: Campers build functional 3D models to understand organ mechanics, including building a lung model to visualize respiration and creating a spinal column to learn about the central nervous system and skeletal support. Microbiology & Germ Theory: Campers become lab technicians as they swab and grow their own bacteria in Petri dishes, learning the importance of hygiene and how the body’s immune system filters out "invaders." Clinical Diagnostic Skills: Students learn the fundamentals of a physical exam. Using their own reflex hammer and stethoscope, they explore the physics of sound in the heart and the biology of nervous system responses. Physiological Experiments: From exploring the "miles of blood vessels" to understanding how the skin acts as a protective barrier (through skin printing), campers participate in 15–20 different lessons that explain the body's internal "machinery." Quick Facts for Busy Families The "Physician's Kit": Every camper receives and takes home their own stethoscope and percussion hammer to continue their clinical explorations at home. STEM.org Accredited: Our "Junior Physician" curriculum is recognized for excellence in health science education and meets national STEM standards. Hands-On Intensity: With 15–20 different experiments per week, this camp is designed to keep high-energy 1st–3rd graders engaged and moving. Working-Parent Friendly: Programs typically run Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30/4:00 PM, with Pre-Camp (8:00 AM) and Post-Camp (until 5:30 PM) options available at most locations.
