About This Activity
Club SciKidz’s Jurassic Dinosaur is a STEM.org accredited early childhood program that introduces the basics of Paleontology and Earth Science. The curriculum is specifically curated for the cognitive and motor stages of Pre-K and Kindergarten campers, blending storytelling with hands-on laboratory activities. Core Learning Objectives: Tactile Excavation: Little paleontologists practice "soft-brush" techniques in our sensory dig bins to uncover dinosaur bones and hidden treasures, developing patience and precision. The "Dino-Lab" Experiments: Campers explore the world of giants by making Dino-Snot (viscosity science), creating Fossil Casts (mold making), and hatching Frozen Dino-Eggs to learn about states of matter. Anatomy & Comparison: Using our specialized "Dino-Kits," children learn to identify the differences between herbivores and carnivores, focusing on how teeth and claws tell us what a dinosaur ate. Creative Engineering: Campers build their own Dinosaur Habitat (Diorama), learning what plants, water, and shelter these magnificent creatures needed to survive millions of years ago. Quick Facts for Busy Families The "Discovery Bag": Every day features a "make and take" project. By Friday, your camper will have a collection of fossils, models, and science crafts to share with the whole family. Safety & Care: Our Junior programs feature lower staff-to-camper ratios and are led by instructors experienced in early childhood transitions and "learning through play."
