Overview: In this 5-day class, students learn the fundamentals of stick framing. Stick framing is the process by which most modern houses are constructed using small dimensional lumber (2×4’s or 2×6’s) and plywood sheathing. While building the structure of a tiny house on wheels, students will learn and practice the techniques of cutting, assembling, and raising the floor, wall and roof systems of a small structure. All these skills and techniques are scalable to larger structures. Project description: In our course this year we are building a Tiny House on wheels. By the end of the week the goal is to have all four exterior walls and the roof framed and raised on the Tiny House. This class is part of our Tiny House series. Students under 18 may attend with parental permission.
