Youth Clay (ceramics/pottery) Ages 11-17
Pre-Requisite: None
Instructor: Rebecca Pincus
This is an opportunity for young people to explore the world of clay. Basic techniques will be taught. Those with some experience will learn more advanced techniques. We will make functional ware for food, and sculptural decorative work. We will hand build and get to play with wonderful textures. We will be on the wheel for the last part of the session, getting a feel for throwing clay. Students will be able to glaze their work and it will be fired for them to take home as finished pieces. Additions costs on the first day of class, payable to the instructor: Clay-$25, Materials fee-$10. Students may use the studio's tools.
