About This Activity
Taught by Sophia Lamontagne In this class, we will be using scraps of old magazines, newspapers, and books that were destined for the recycling bin to create art that can last for many more years to come. We’ll be flexing our creative muscles to invent brand new images, remixing and reimagining existing photography and graphic design. Students will create large-format pieces that can be framed and hung at home, as well as smaller collections of pieces similar to junk journaling. We’ll discuss the history of collage in contemporary art as well as its many uses on a green campus like Laurence. Come join Ms. Sophie for this exciting enrichment!
