Did you ever wonder what else might be out in the wild with us? Join fellow Girl Scouts as we explore the fields, woods, streams, and lakes at Camp Butternut Springs for legendary creatures. We might see fairies, tree sprites, bigfoot, or even the Lake Anderson Monster! Of course, we will be doing all of the fun camp activities, including cooking lunch over a campfire, hiking, crafts, songs, games, and swimming. Older girls will also have the opportunity for additional recreation opportunities throughout the week. On Thursday evening, parents are invited to join us from 4-5:30pm to learn about all the fun we have been having and watch a special ceremony. Afterward, 4th and 5th grade girls are invited to stay for an evening activity from 6-9pm. Girls entering 6th grade and up are invited to spend the night to keep the fun going. CITs are required to have CPR/FA training prior to beginning camp, which will be at an additional cost. We will offer a day course on 4/25 from 8am-4pm, or girls can attend a course that works for their schedule from a local organization. If using an outside course, please check with the camp director to ensure it meets the requirements. CITs will have two additional required training days in the weeks leading up to camp: May 9, 1-4pm and May 16, 9am-1pm. Girls should plan to attend the camp setup day on May 31, from 1-3pm. CITs will spend the night at camp Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night. On Saturday morning (June 6), we will complete a service project for the camp. All days are required to complete the CIT training. Financial assistance is available through the Council (This form must be filled out to request financial assistance after camp registration. Approved financial assistance will be refunded to the card used to pay for camp: https://www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org/en/get-involved/join/for-families/financial-assistance.html).
