In this practical, hands-on elective, students will learn the joy of creating a warm, peaceful home while discovering the biblical heart behind stewardship and hospitality. Every single week features a brand-new project that students will create and take home from scratch. Throughout the semester, students will craft: Cozy Home Comforts: A personalized no-sew fleece tie blanket, a hand-stitched embroidered kitchen tea towel, and a welcoming door wreath to hang on your front door. Handcrafted Apothecary Items: Sweet-smelling beeswax taper candles, custom herb & honey goat’s milk soap, therapeutic fizzy bath bombs, a soothing garden healing salve, and a glowing stained-glass leaf lantern. Kitchen & Creative Arts: An adorable mini felt sewing project, delicate pressed botanical bookmarks, and a beautifully layered baking mix ""Blessing Jar"" to bake at home with the family. Teacher Bio: My name is Desiree Windle. I have been homeschooling since 2014 and currently homeschool our four children. Our family has been part of HEAT since 2014, with seasons spent serving on short- and long-term missions ranging from six months to a year. My husband is in ministry, and together we love the Lord and serving both locally and abroad. At home, I enjoy baking and cooking (especially sourdough), gardening, and cheering on football. Homeschooling, faith, and community are close to my heart, and I’m grateful to be part of HEAT.
