This hands-on handwriting class is designed to help students strengthen and refine their everyday print/script handwriting while introducing the foundations of cursive writing. Students will focus on developing handwriting that is clear, consistent, comfortable, and efficient. We’ll identify common handwriting habits that make writing difficult to read and practice simple techniques for creating cleaner, more consistent handwriting. Students will then be introduced to cursive letter formation and connections, beginning with basic strokes and letter families before progressing to connecting letters and writing simple words and phrases. Throughout the class, students will practice: • Proper handwriting posture, grip, and pencil control • Consistent print/script letter formation • Letter size, spacing, and alignment • Improving handwriting neatness and readability • Building writing speed and fluency • Foundational cursive strokes and patterns • Uppercase and lowercase cursive letters • Connecting cursive letters to form words • Developing a personal signature The goal isn’t perfect penmanship—it’s helping students develop legible, confident, and efficient handwriting while giving them a strong foundation for continued cursive practice. Perfect for students who need to improve their current handwriting, students who are ready to learn cursive, or anyone who wants to become a more confident handwritten communicator.
