About This Activity
Have a flair for imaginative writing? This course is meant for those looking to expand their writing skills beyond only academic writing. To do so, we will learn how to analyze other works, critique them, and write our own. Learning outcomes Techniques and terminology of fiction writing Techniques and terminology of poetry writing Techniques and terminology of plays Critical reading skills for critiquing fiction, poetry, and plays How to “workshop” The importance of revision within the writing process NOTE: This course may be added to Public Speaking (offered in Spring) to make an English 4 credit. See teacher for approval. Teacher Bio: My name is Amy Loesch and I have been teaching several high school level courses since 2019. I graduated in 2009 with a BA in Religious Education and have taken a significant amount of graduate level courses for teaching and secondary English. My philosophy is that each student learns in his or her own way, and that learning should be FUN and relevant.
