About This Activity
Middle School Grammar and Writing Foundations is designed to equip students with the essential building blocks they need to become confident, capable writers. This course focuses on strengthening students’ understanding of core grammar concepts such as parts of speech, sentence structure, punctuation, and proper usage. Students will learn how grammar supports clear communication and how to apply these skills in their own writing. Alongside grammar instruction, students will develop foundational writing skills through structured practice in paragraph writing, descriptive writing, and basic essay organization. Emphasis is placed on writing strong topic sentences, supporting ideas with details, and using descriptive language to bring writing to life. Students will also learn how to revise and edit their work for clarity and correctness. By the end of the course, students will have a stronger grasp of grammar and sentence construction, increased confidence in their writing abilities, and the tools needed to succeed in more advanced writing courses. Teacher Bio: Nicole Golden is a certified secondary English educator with a passion for helping students grow as confident readers and writers. She loves creating engaging, thoughtful classroom experiences that strengthen both skills and character. Nicole is married to Bryant, the Lead Pastor of Centerpoint Church, and together they are raising four wonderful kids. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys investing in her family and church community.
