Learn the skills to produce our HEAT yearbook! We will alternate units on photography, writing, and layout/design. Photography units will cover compositional techniques, lighting, photojournalism and file management. Students will learn core writing skills during the writing units including journalistic reporting, caption writing, interviewing and quotes, and headline writing. Layout and design units will teach proficiency in using Picaboo, our yearbook software, grid systems, consistency and visual storytelling. Once a month the class will be joined by our yearbook club members to apply what we have learned in class directly to the yearbook. *This class is a pre-requisite to yearbook club.
