Ancient Civilizations – Semester 2 In this class, we will continue our journey through history by exploring Ancient China, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome. Students will learn through a combination of vocabulary study, mapping activities, short lectures, videos or virtual field trips, and hands-on projects. Mapping will be guided step-by-step so students can follow along and copy directly from the projection. Younger students who may find mapping challenging will receive a simplified activity, such as a themed coloring page or vocabulary picture set, during this portion of class. All hands-on projects are designed to be engaging and age-appropriate for elementary students, giving them a creative way to connect with each civilization we study. By the end of the semester, students will have a deeper understanding of the cultures, achievements, and geography of these fascinating ancient societies. Hi! I’m Kelly Krutz, and I’m thrilled to be teaching again this year. Originally from Colorado, I’ve been homeschooling my two boys for six years and have been part of the Tampa Bay HEAT community for four years. Teaching is something I truly love, and I enjoy creating hands-on, engaging lessons that make learning exciting and memorable. Outside of teaching, I’m a homeschooling mom and crafter who loves spending time outdoors. Whether it’s a day at the beach, exploring nature, or simply enjoying fresh air with my family, I believe learning happens everywhere—not just in the classroom!
