Students explore the United States state-by-state, building geography skills while learning about each state’s history, landmarks, symbols, and culture. Through maps, engaging lessons, hands-on projects, and creative presentations, students gain a deeper understanding of how diverse and unique each part of the country is. Teacher Bio: My name is Desiree Windle. I have been homeschooling since 2014 and currently homeschool our four children. Our family has been part of HEAT since 2014, with seasons spent serving on short- and long-term missions ranging from six months to a year. My husband is in ministry, and together we love the Lord and serving both locally and abroad. At home, I enjoy baking and cooking (especially sourdough), gardening, and cheering on football. Homeschooling, faith, and community are close to my heart, and I’m grateful to be part of HEAT.
