About This Activity

Exploring World Geography is a one-year high school course that studies and explains the world God created, helping students see geography as both a physical and human story. Students will examine how people have interacted with the world throughout history and how those interactions continue to shape life today. Using the curriculum by Ray Notgrass, the course explores two central questions: How has the physical world influenced where and how people live, work, and build societies? How have people shaped the physical world, both in the past and in the present? Through this study, students develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between people, places, and the environment, while growing in awareness of the world around them. BIO: Hi, I’m April! I’ve been married for twenty-three years and am the mother of three children whom I’ve homeschooled for over fifteen years. Our eldest graduated from Liberty University a few years ago, a joyful milestone for our family. I’m a lifelong learner who enjoys reading, gardening, and sailing, and I previously ran a hospitality business hosting guests from around the world. For the past five years, I’ve taught high school government and economics in homeschooling communities in Florida and California. My passion for these subjects grew while teaching my own children and seeing how important it is for young people to understand the ideas that shape society. As a Christian, I teach from a biblical worldview, emphasizing stewardship, human nature, and natural law as they relate to government and economics. My goal is to equip students to think critically and make wise decisions that help their families and communities flourish. I look forward to exploring government, economics, and world geography with this year’s students!
