Sociology This course introduces students to sociology—the study of society, social relationships, and human behavior. Students will explore how families, culture, media, education, community, and social institutions shape individuals and groups. Through guided discussion, case studies, hands-on projects, and real-world examples, students will practice thinking critically, communicating respectfully, and making connections between course concepts and everyday life. Bio for Jamie Roger: I am a veteran educator with 17 years of experience teaching upper elementary through high school students in History, English Language Arts, and Art. I have taught in homeschool co-ops, educated my own children, and currently teach in Hillsborough County public schools, though my heart has always remained in the homeschool community. I specialize in discussion-based, hands-on learning that encourages students to think critically, communicate confidently, and make real-world connections while creating engaging, supportive classrooms where students feel challenged, inspired, and excited to learn.
