Civics is a class that the State of FL requires for all middle schoolers to take. My Civics class will integrate American government studies with biblical principles, focusing on responsibility, constitutional foundations, and God's role in history. Some topics that will will covered are as follows: Foundations: God's role in the establishment of American law and rights. Structure: The three branches of government, federalism, and the Constitution. Active Citizenship: Responsibilities of citizens, voting, and the role of faith in public life. Core Values: Freedom, individualism, and equality through a biblical lens. I am looking forward to teaching your children!! Bio: My name is Jennifer Luttrell. My husband and I have been married for over 25 years and we have 4 kids, a son-in-law, a grandson and soon to be new granddaughter! I grew up in Indiana, went to Purdue University, where I got my teaching degree and found my loving husband, Gabriel. He was born and raised in Panama and moved to the US for college. Once we were married, I learned Spanish with Gabriel and his family. We moved to FL 15 years ago where we have loved raising our family. Our oldest is Adriana Vazquez, who owns a swim business, has a little boy and soon to be baby girl. We have a 22 year old son who is a project manager for our construction business. We also have 16 and 13 year old daughters who we have homeschool for the past 10 years! Over the years, I have taught middle school and was a developmental therapist for children with developmental delays. I have also been speaking Spanish for over 20 years and teaching with Heat for 2 years. I know this semester is going to be amazing!!
