About This Activity
This is a beginning violin class for ages 8 and up. Students will learn to play the violin and read music notation. Each student will need a violin, a folding music stand, and will purchase two music books (Strictly Strings for Violin, book 1 and Concert Tunes for Beginning Strings, Book 1 for Violin by Dale Brubaker). Rental and purchase recommendations will be provided by the instructor. The 12-week semester will conclude with a class recital on the last day. Barbra Biagiotti studied music education at the University of South Florida. Her teaching experience includes teaching strings at the elementary and middle school level for Hillsborough County Schools, classes for homeschool groups and co-ops, and private lessons in flute, violin, and piano, as well as homeschooling her son who is now graduated.
