About This Activity
I am excited to be part of the Tampa Bay HEAT and offering Intro to Guitar for Beginners! This beginner class is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of guitar in a supportive, encouraging environment — no prior experience required! I have been teaching guitar since 1989, and helping students take their very first steps on the instrument is something I truly enjoy. I studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and locally at HCC. My music has been released worldwide to critical acclaim and commercial success, and I’ve been featured in national publications. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with notable musicians such as Derek Sherinian, Chris Poland, Blues Saraceno, Don Preston, Sean Malone, Mike Keneally, John Wesley, Mark Prator, and many others. Even with a busy performance and recording schedule, I have always maintained a consistent guitar lesson program. Teaching guitar may actually be my greatest passion. While some accomplished players don’t have the patience for instruction, I genuinely enjoy working with students of all ages — especially beginners. There is nothing better than watching a student gain confidence, develop skill, and discover a love for music.
