Elementary Choir is an opportunity for students to grow in self-esteem, musicality, teamwork, perseverance, and confidence while learning to use their voices to praise God! This spring, we’ll be singing songs by Forest Frank, including our theme song, “CELEBRATION.” Through fun, upbeat music, students will explore Biblical truths while developing their musical skills through games, movement, listening, breathing, rhythm, lessons, and lots of singing! Students will learn healthy vocal technique, pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and teamwork while memorizing lyrics that encourage them to hide God’s Word in their hearts. Singing is also a wonderful way to support self-regulation, reduce stress, build confidence, and bring joy. Choir is a joy-bringer! Kevin and Julie Wilson are passionate about helping students discover and develop their God-given gifts through music, worship, and the arts. They have spent more than 30 years serving together in worship, music, creative arts, and student ministry leadership. With extensive experience directing choirs of all ages, Kevin and Julie have also enjoyed coaching students in vocal solos and ensembles for district, state, and national competitions. Their teaching experience includes private voice and piano lessons, as well as serving as directors of an Arts Academy. Together, they share a passion for helping young singers develop both their voices and their hearts for worship. They can’t wait to sing with you!
