I’m excited to be part of Tampa Bay HEAT and offer guitar lessons! Whether students are picking up a guitar for the first time or already have experience, this class is designed to meet them at their individual skill level. Students will work both independently and as a class to develop their skills, build confidence, and grow as musicians in a supportive, encouraging environment. Students will need to provide their own guitar and bring it to and from class each week. Bio: Todd Grubbs has been teaching guitar since 1989 and has spent decades helping students move beyond the basics, refine their skills, and grow as musicians. Teaching remains one of his greatest passions, and he genuinely enjoys helping students build confidence, strengthen technique, and deepen their understanding of music. Todd studied at Hillsborough Community College and spent two years at Berklee College of Music in Boston. In addition to teaching, he has maintained an active career as a recording artist and performer. Since founding the Todd Grubbs School of Music in 2000, he has released 15 albums of original music, performed throughout the United States and Europe, and seen his music achieve both critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. His work has been featured in national publications, and he has collaborated with many notable musicians, including Derek Sherinian, Chris Poland, Blues Saraceno, Don Preston, Sean Malone, Mike Keneally, John Wesley, and Mark Prator. Despite a busy performance and recording schedule, Todd has always remained committed to teaching. His years of experience as both a professional musician and educator allow him to help students develop strong musical foundations while encouraging them to reach their full potential as guitarists.
