In this week-long class designed for middle school students, we'll dive into the exciting world of short stories! Each day, students will read and discuss a new short story from funny to mysterious to thought-provoking. We'll explore what makes each story powerful through creative written responses, hands-on crafts, and interactive projects that bring the stories to life. By the end of the week, students will have built their own mini story collection, discovered new authors, and gained confidence in their reading and writing skills all while having fun connecting imagination with creativity. Teacher Bio: Hi! My name is Nicole Golden and I am a former Secondary English Teacher. I am so excited to teach writing and grammar to your middle school students! In this class, we will be working on grammar, spelling, and vocabulary, as those are the building blocks of writing. We will also be learning how to use graphic organizers and outlines for writing preparations. Additionally, we will practice writing informational, opinion, argumentative, descriptive, and narrative paragraphs and essays.
