Public speaking is a powerful skill that builds confidence and clear communication. In this unit, students will learn the importance of speaking effectively by focusing on tone, body language, and audience awareness. Through practice, they will develop the ability to present both persuasive and informative messages clearly, helping them share ideas with confidence and purpose. BIO: Lauren Cliff is a 2nd-year teacher with HEAT, bringing a strong background in humanities, English literature, and U.S. history into everything she teaches. With over 20 years of customer service experience, she leads with patience, empathy, and real-world grit. She’s a proud mom of three, happily married, and in her fourth year of homeschooling her own kids—proof that teaching doesn’t stop when the school day ends.
