Course Title: Youth Effective Communication & Public Speaking Target Grade Level: Grades 3–6 (Ages 8–11) Class Description: Help your child find their confident voice! This 12-week interactive workshop equips preteens with essential communication and public speaking skills for family, school, and everyday life. Through hands-on ""Teach-Practice-Do"" activities, students master body language, eye contact, vocal projection, active listening, stage fright management, speech structuring (Hook, Body, Conclusion), persuasive family negotiation, impromptu speaking, and polite public etiquette in a supportive, fun environment. Required Supplies: 1-inch 3-ring binder with loose-leaf notebook paper Pack of 3x5 index cards and pencils Water bottle Teacher Bio: Mike Parrott is a dedicated educator and homeschool parent passionate about building student confidence, active listening, and strong interpersonal skills. With a background in adult education, communication and leadership, Mike creates an encouraging space where every student feels empowered to express their ideas clearly and respectfully.
