Where history meets STEM! Learning about history through past inventions and engineering. We will build/recreate historical creations to better understand their ingenuity and how it has helped push us into the modern age we live in. Teacher Bio: My name is Heidi Milliner and I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years. I have taught predominantly in Christian schools. I have been a high school ELA teacher in Taiwan as well. I have my bachelor's degree in Education with a minor in English. I am certified to teach the following: general education K-8, Biology up to 10th grade, Bible up to 10th grade, English up to 12th grade, and am certified in the Project Based Learning theory for PreK-2nd grades. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I grew up in Puerto Rico as a young child, prior to moving to the states. I also have experience as a licensed life insurance and annuities agent in Florida. In this role I did a lot of financial planning and education with teachers in Manatee county public schools and helped teachers prepare for retirement. My passion for education is hands-on and experiential learning for students. As parents you will see a lot of out of the box thinking and projects for students to complete in my courses with the ultimate goal of them having ownership of their learning and applying the concepts they've learned.
