Middle School LEGO Engineering Lab (Time Slot 1) This class uses Lego as a hands-on tool for structured, project-based learning. Students will explore engineering and design concepts such as simple and compound machines, structural stability, patterns, and system design. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, experimentation, and problem-solving as students plan, build, test, and refine their creations. Through guided challenges and open-ended projects, students will develop their own creativity and problem solving. The goal of this class is to provide a deeper understanding of how design and engineering principles work in real-world applications. Teacher Bio: I’m Ian McNair! I am a 20 year old college student currently enrolled with Sophia.edu. I moved to Florida from Kentucky in 2021. I’ve loved Legos my whole life, with them often taking up much of my time and Christmas gift budget. I have had 3 years of experience working with students in many different contexts. I was the head coach for FCA TBCAL soccer, I've been with FPEA working their homeschool convention for 3 years, and I currently volunteer within my church's student ministry as an 8th grade leader!
