About This Activity
In this hands on, faith filled class kids will learn about these incredible pre-historic creatures through a biblical lens using science and art. Designed for curious kids ages 6-9 who love dinosaurs, this class will ignite imagination and discovery. Kids will learn that loving dinosaurs and loving GOD can go hand in hand. In this class we will answer questions like: What were dinosaurs like? When & where did they live? Did GOD make dinosaurs? Each week includes: A featured dinosaur, fascinating facts and visuals, discussion, fun dinosaur trivia, art activities, science experiments and all while connecting each dinosaur learned to a Bible-based reflection or verse. By the end of the semester the kids will have a dinosaur notebook created by them along with science knowledge that deepens their appreciation for Gods amazing design. Throughout the semester there will also be some very fun surprise crafts and experiments such as creating our own dinosaur fossils, and ice egg dinosaur science. So calling all DINO-lovers lets get ready for a ROAR-some adventure together! Hi, I’m Heather Jones, an experienced and passionate educator with a diverse professional background. I am originally from California and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from the University of Florida. I began my career as an exercise physiologist in cardiology before transitioning into the super fun and unique job as a dolphin trainer; an experience that strengthened my creativity and love of learning. Later after becoming a mother, I earned my teaching certification and currently have six years of experience teaching elementary education at Bell Shoals Christian Academy. I have spent the past five years homeschooling my two children and our family has been an active part of the Tampa Bay HEAT community for four years. Each summer I also serve as lead teacher for Vacation Bible School, where I create engaging, fun, and faith-based learning.
