About This Activity
In Winter Mystery Science Lab, kids will become young scientists as they investigate a different winter-themed mystery each day. Every day brings a new adventure with exciting experiments, creative projects, and opportunities to build, test, investigate, and discover! 🦠 Day 1 — GROSS GERMS! Germ Labs & Fake Snot! We'll explore the science of germs and how they spread while conducting some seriously gross science experiments! We'll investigate germ transmission, learn about our body's defenses, conduct a hands-on germ-spreading experiment, and make fake, slimey snot while discovering how mucus helps protect our bodies. 🐧 Day 2 — ARCTIC ANIMALS! Blubber, Adaptations & Arctic Survival How do animals survive in some of the coldest places on Earth? We'll explore amazing Arctic animal adaptations, conduct a blubber experiment, discover how animals stay warm, and design and build Arctic shelters while taking on an Arctic Survival Challenge! 🎄 Day 3 — CHRISTMAS CHEMISTRY LAB! Science You Can Give as a Gift! It's time to become a Christmas chemist! We'll use chemistry to create science-inspired Christmas gifts that kids can give to someone special if they choose. Projects may include science-inspired bath bombs, crystal creations, color chemistry artwork, and other fun chemistry experiments. 🧊 Day 4 — ICE, SNOW & WINTER ENGINEERING! Frozen Science & STEM Challenges We'll finish camp with a day full of ice, snow, and engineering! We'll investigate what makes ice melt, complete an ice excavation, make and explore fake snow, learn about winter weather, and take on a Winter Engineering Challenge where kids will build, test, and improve their own winter-inspired creation. 🎒 What Should Students Bring? That's easy! Students only need to bring: 🥤 A water bottle 🍎 A snack ALL experiment and craft supplies are included! 🎉 Students should come prepared to get messy, experiment, create, investigate, and HAVE FUN
