Healthcare and medicine are as intricate as the human body itself, and we want to work together to tackle the challenges of the future! In this camp, you'll explore the intersections of biology, medicine, and engineering and discover how engineers and doctors collaborate to spur medical advancements and save lives! Through a week of hands-on activities, campers will take on the role of a biomedical engineer, engage in exciting challenges and innovative experiments (including designing and building your own prototypes), explore and replicate biological systems, and so much more. Put on your lab coat and grab your hard hats, engineers! Join this camp if you’re interested in medicine, biology, and engineering and want to learn how they impact one another. This program is intended for participants entering Grades 6 and 7 in September 2025. NOTE: The same themes at the same grade level will contain the same content across all weeks. For example, Maker 2/3 (Week 1) will contain the same material as Maker 2/3 (Week 7). Girls* and women* bring value and diversity to STEM, and through providing a girl*-focused space, we encourage and inspire the next generation of women* in STEM. Geering Up holds All Girls* Camps every summer to encourage girls* to discover and explore their love of science and engineering. All Girls* Camps offer the same activities as their co-ed counterparts in a girl*-focused space. *We use the words “girls” and “women” with an asterisk (*) to intentionally include students and stakeholders who are underrepresented in STEM fields. Cis girls/women and trans, genderqueer, or non-binary people are welcome at our All Girls* programming. For more information, visit our All Girls* page on our website.
