About This Activity

Instill curiosity and develop a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) from a young age! Our Miniminds camps introduce our mini-scientists and engineers to all areas of STEM through lots of exciting, hands-on activities. We provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment for incoming Grade 1 students to practice their social and classroom skills all while exploring, creating, and discovering the exciting world of STEM. We offer two different versions of Miniminds: Early Explorers and Growing Geniuses. Each version will involve different STEM topics, building challenges, and creative activities. Geer up for a STEM-tastic week! This program is intended for participants entering Grade 1 in September 2026. Please note that we cannot accept campers younger than this due to BC childcare laws. Girls* thrive when they have a focused space to discover, explore, and cultivate their love for science and engineering. Geering Up’s annual All Girls* Week encourages girls* and inspires the next generation of women* scientists. All Girls* camps offer the same STEM activities as their co-ed counterparts. *We use the words “girls” and “women” with an asterisk (*) to intentionally include students and stakeholders who are underrepresented in STEM fields. Cis girls/women and trans, genderqueer, or non-binary people are welcome at our All Girls* programming. For more information, visit our All Girls* page on our website. NOTE: The same themes at the same grade level will contain the same content across all weeks. For example, Maker 2/3 (Week 1) will contain the same material as Maker 2/3 (Week 7).
