The STEAM clubs aim to ignite a practice of asking questions and seeking answers about the world around us for those in grades 5-7. Participants can expect to visit concepts learned in school through a practical, application-focused lens. For example, are you learning about geometry in school? In our clubs, we may learn about which shape is the strongest structure. Or, are you starting to bridge the relationship between force and motion? We may build some pedestrian walkways to test for the same! With a mix of individual and group-based learning, scientific and technological concepts will take on a new meaning with hands-on activities for each of the sessions. Geering Up is hosting four weekly sessions starting February 19th to March 12th, on Wednesdays after school ends from 3 to 4:30 pm! Activities may be pulled from past curriculum, but will have a new twist.
