About This Activity
Engineering makes a visible impact on our day-to-day lives in the technology we use, the transportation we take, the medical systems we navigate, and even the food we eat! Gain an introductory overview of the innovative world of engineering through projects, experiments, and lots of hands-on fun. Whether you already have your sights set on a university engineering degree or are simply curious about the field, the problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity that you’ll develop in this theme go far beyond any single subject. Come have fun learning about the engineering process and create some amazing final products! Join this program if you’re interested in exploring engineering. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn. Have fun and discover how engineering makes a difference every day! This program is intended for participants entering Grades 8 and 9 in September 2026. NOTE: This is a 4-day week. NOTE: The same themes at the same grade level will contain the same content across all weeks. For example, Maker 2/3 (Week 1) will contain the same material as Maker 2/3 (Week 7).
