About This Activity

Technology is all around us; how can our young curious minds explore the world of computer science? The answer is our Computers and Me camp! From exploring exciting computer games to working on our very first block code, this camp is the perfect digital playground for creative imaginations to run wild. Our curriculum teaches the basic principles of computational thinking and coding in byte-sized chunks! We focus on introductory computer-based activities, so campers do not need previous computer experience. Join this camp if you want to become more acquainted with how computers work and get an early introduction to computational thinking! This program is intended for participants entering Grades 2 and 3 in September 2025. NOTE: The same themes at the same grade level will contain the same content across all weeks. For example, Maker 2/3 (Week 1) will contain the same material as Maker 2/3 (Week 7). Girls* and women* bring value and diversity to STEM, and through providing a girl*-focused space, we encourage and inspire the next generation of women* in STEM. Geering Up holds All Girls* Camps every summer to encourage girls* to discover and explore their love of science and engineering. All Girls* Camps offer the same activities as their co-ed counterparts in a girl*-focused space. *We use the words “girls” and “women” with an asterisk (*) to intentionally include students and stakeholders who are underrepresented in STEM fields. Cis girls/women and trans, genderqueer, or non-binary people are welcome at our All Girls* programming. For more information, visit our All Girls* page on our website.
