Where Young Engineers Design, Build, and Conquer Real-World Challenges! Compass Outdoor’s Creative Outdoor Engineers Summer Camp for ages 7-12 is an exciting journey into engineering, outdoor science, and creative teamwork. Using the principles of STEAM education and project-based learning (PBL), campers tackle real-world challenges at some of Vancouver’s most iconic outdoor locations, including UBC Botanical Garden, Vanier Park, Jericho Pond, Pacific Spirit Park, and Locarno Beach. At this educational outdoor summer camp in Vancouver, campers will: Engineer bridges that combine creativity with scientific structure. Compete in boat design challenges after exploring marine engineering at the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Analyze natural architecture from animal habitats and apply it to their own shelter-building projects. Build survival shelters using found materials and test them in real outdoor conditions. Design and construct seawalls to protect the shoreline from tides, using teamwork and critical thinking. Through hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and dynamic team projects, kids develop a deeper understanding of science, engineering, and the environment — making this one of the best STEAM-based summer camps in Vancouver!
