Outdoor Engineers of the Future — Creative Learning Through Play! At Compass Outdoor’s Creative Outdoor Engineers Summer Camp, young explorers (ages 3-6) take their first steps into the world of engineering, science, and creative thinking. Through playful activities and guided outdoor adventures, children develop early STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) skills while exploring Vancouver’s beautiful parks and gardens. 📍 Camp locations include UBC Botanical Garden, Vanier Park, Jericho Pond, Pacific Spirit Park, and Locarno Beach. In this outdoor summer camp in Vancouver, children will: Build simple bridges with natural materials and explore basic engineering ideas. Learn how boats float and move during fun experiments at the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Discover the science behind animal homes like beaver dams and eagle nests. Create nature shelters, applying early problem-solving skills. Play, build, and explore, growing a lifelong love for outdoor learning. Designed around project-based learning (PBL) and hands-on exploration, our camp inspires little ones to dream big, work together, and imagine themselves as the future outdoor engineers of tomorrow.
