This class is a theater tech class with three parts: FALL: LIGHTING DESIGN: Learn to use lighting to reflect the atmosphere for a theater production. Your instructor will go over the basics of lighting instruments, and electrical wiring to engineer lighting rigs, and lighting software to run cues. Learn about the design aspects of lighting such as color theory and instrument placement. Taught by Ian Anderson-Priddy WINTER: SET DESIGN: Learn how to successfully use a variety of power tools to design a set for a musical; learn drafting techniques and build a mini-flat. Taught by Taron Harm SPRING: SOUND DESIGN: Learn to create sound effects, work with wireless microphones, and build speaker systems. Learn and program Q-Lab and work with Audacity to manipulate show tracks. Enter the world of audio and explore the only non-visual aspect of the theater.
