"As merry as the day is long!" This summer, the Teen Shakespeare Intensive brings the beloved comedy Much Ado About Nothing to life! Join us for two jam-packed weeks exploring Shakespeare! Teen artists will work as an ensemble to rehearse and perform an abridged version of the play, while also participating in specialized workshops designed to enhance their skills. These sessions will explore Shakespearean text analysis, character development, movement, voice technique, and more, providing additional training to deepen their understanding and performance. The program culminates in two performances on Saturday, July 19, 2025. No prior experience with Shakespeare is needed—every registered student will submit a video audition and be cast in a role. The intensive runs Monday–Friday in the first week and Monday–Saturday in the second. Our popular Bard on the Beach field trip is back! This year, Shakespeare Intensive students have the exciting opportunity to join an optional field trip to the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival in Vancouver. Participants will attend a matinee performance on Sunday, July 6 experiencing world-class Shakespearean theatre. Students will meet at the Swartz Bay ferry terminal, where they will be chaperoned to and from Vancouver by Kaleidoscope staff.
