About This Activity
Who: individuals with autism who are 6 years old and older. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE COMPREHENSION OR READING SKILLS TO JOIN OR PARTICIPATE. This an adaptive book club. What: Join FACT for another round of Book Club! This is an 8-week program designed to share and enjoy the love of reading and listening to a story. Each session will be comprised of activities related to the book and the readings/listening. We will read / listen to the portion of the story assigned for the week and meet each week to engage in different book activities. The last day of class will be spent watching the movie and enjoying time with friends. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE COMPREHENSION OR READING SKILLS TO JOIN OR PARTICIPATE. We will read / listen to the sections of the story weekly as a group. Where: FACT Autism Resource Center 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA 23452 When: Every Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:30pm How: Materials and instruction will be provided. Families will be responsible for transportation to/from the site location YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE COMPREHENSION OR READING SKILLS TO JOIN OR PARTICIPATE. Participants do not need to provide their own material- all materials will be provided. A token will be received if participant attends, at minimum, half of the 8-week class (must attend 4 classes). Tokens can be exchanged for discounts off future programs.
