About This Activity
What: GonnawannaGOLFagin' Our coaches and staff will use their expertise, modeling, and visuals to teach skills and understanding of the sport. We hope to increase our athlete’s physical endurance, coordination, attention, and social interaction through team play. Coaches from First Tee will provide direct instruction and materials to play the game of golf. Who: Participants w/ ASD who are 6 and older Prior golfing experience is not necessary- all ability levels are welcome, however FACT golfing programs are recommended for students with receptive language skills enough to follow simple single step directions and attempt to imitate actions. Golfing is staffed on a 1:4/5 ratio (1 staff per 4 or 5 participants). Where: First Tee- Hampton Roads 2400 Tournament Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23456 When: Thursday's in September and October Cost: There is a one-time registration fee for the 5-week program Why: Our goal is for every child to walk off the green with a smile on their face, but we also hope to increase our athlete’s physical endurance, coordination, attention, and social interaction through team play.
